What this lock-down gave me:
Any lock-down is not good, many of us are facing it for the
first time in life – so it’s all about adjustments, adjustments and adjustments.
This is mainly written from Indian context in mind.
Many of us have heard the word Corona for first time, even
though it was there in some of our childhood textbooks but nobody was much
aware about it as we all looked at it from study perspective only. Then the new
word came Covid-19 and all its seriousness started increasing, and it came to a
lock-down. Earlier it was for 1 day so we
all enjoyed it and then it was for 21 days and we all became serious about it.
It was phase of each and every member of the family to be at
home – so it was enjoyable but many of us were not used to be together for such
a long period of time, at the same time the news came of all supporting staff
(for home) will stop coming from tomorrow, so additional things came to all of
us and the phase of work distribution started – it was big adjustment all together
for all of us. With work distribution the phase came of day-to-day planning with work from home – with being children
around and with limited bandwidth it was tough ….so it is on and on
With this, we learnt so many things – which would not have
been possible
1.
Being
self-sufficient - gave lot of confidence that we can manage
2.
Adjustment
– gave lot of flexibility to change and adjust self with limited resources
3.
Co-operation
- Together we can achieve many things
4.
Understanding
– gave opportunity to understand each other and our strengths
5.
Respect – Every work takes time and has value
associated with it – so respect it
6.
Health - Understood the importance of immune system and
how health is important
7.
Needs –
Understood that we collect many things which are not really required
8.
Social
Interaction – We missed it altogether , and realized the importance of it
9.
Help –
Watched the worked done by police, govt. organizations, doctors etc… Hats off
to them
1. Mental
health – It is a must to give time for self and take a break once a year or
whenever possible.
